Because these pieces have staccato here is a reminder: The important thing is to get used to 'stopping' the bow at the end of each note be it an up or a down. Don't be tempted to rush this. Take just a few staccato notes and play them each almost as if you were playing them one note - a gap - then another note - a gap - then another and so on. As it becomes more comfortable begin to increase the speed so that soon it feels like a simple reflex action.
Key Points: Pieces 75 & 76
Pieces 75 & 76 use semiquavers for the first time. There are 2 semiquavers to every quaver so things are now getting quicker and quicker. In this piece they are not hard to do because they are played in pairs on the same note which is slightly easier on the left hand.
Piece 76 is very fast and requires you to play quickly switching from tenuto to staccato very quickly.
Piece 75 has two sharps in the key signature which tells you that your 2nd finger goes forward to its normal position in the standard pattern. So you now have to get used to switching your 2nd back to its old position.
Piece 76 has all its 2nd fingers back on both the A string and D string. This is because the 2 sharps from the previous piece have gone. There is key signature but it has no flats and no sharps.
