String Players Retreats
Once or twice a year we take a retreat to somewhere special with small string groups who want time together.
String player retreats are for existing quartets, quintets or sextets etc.
PLEASE NOTE: There are only one or two retreats per year so to avoid disappointment do get in touch as soon as possible. Any discussions are entirely without commitment so that you can properly explore your group's requirements with me.
The groups have their own exclusive accommodation and a space specially created to offer time together to work more closely, to develop their sense of ensemble and strengthen their commitment to the sound they make and the pleasure they get out of it.
Relaxation is the aim, with space to just to be. If these ideas appeal to you I would be happy to discuss possibilities for next year if there is space available.
My focus is not so much on technique or the finer points of musicology but more on the facilitation of group performance and individual leadership. This time is given over to enhancing the motivation and courage which we string players need in order to do what we want to do and do it well.
The retreat is a few days away from all of the distractions of life which get in the way of achieving our musical goals. There is a chance for time out to get to know each other better as a group.
